Background of Sahara’s Work in Healthcare
Sahara Health and Development Society has been committed to strengthening healthcare delivery for marginalized communities and children with disabilities through innovative and inclusive approaches.- Community-Based Care for Children with Disabilities Under the MARA Project (Mother as Rehabilitation Activists), more than 5,000 mothers have been trained across Telangana to provide home-based care. Implemented with the National Health Mission, Telangana, the project ensures sustainable, community-driven rehabilitation.
- Mobile Healthcare in Remote Border Regions Through the Arogya Mobile Medical Health Project in Jammu & Kashmir, over 1 lakh people in 100+ remote villages have benefitted from accessible healthcare.
